Our client, an early-stage mobile commerce start-up, has engaged CareerEncore to conduct a search for an enthusiastic Director of Business Development.

The Director of Business Development will help establish and execute the company's mobile commerce business strategy through market development and partner acquisition.? They will be responsible for leading the company?s efforts to identify and form partnerships with national retailers and major brands, initially in the apparel, footwear and accessories industry.? This individual will also serve as a market knowledge resource for the company on the requirements of partners and the latest trends in mobile commerce.

Responsibilities:
-? Recruit retail and brand partners.
-? Perform on-going competitive analysis and other analytical tasks to stay abreast of the mobile commerce market.
-? Work closely with the product team to communicate market requirements and help establish shared vision across the company, leading to relevant and efficient product execution.
-? Define and analyze metrics that measure the success of the Business Development team and partners.
-? Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are required.

Requirements:
-? Strong understanding of the mobile landscape, technology, and community.
-? 5+ years of experience in business development, sales or related discipline, with specific experience in retail and/or mobile applications.
-? Experience with social products, technologies and platforms.
-? Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
-? Creative approach to problem solving, innovation and issue resolution.
-? Ability to communicate effectively in writing, verbally and as a presenter.
-? Self-motivated and self-managed with a high degree of analytical ability.
-? Strong leadership and negotiating skills.
-? Proven track record of closing business deals and meeting pre-established goals.
-? BA/BS degree required, MBA preferred.
